Holidays in New York: A Suggestion in Central Park Hotels
Sorry about all the holiday talk around here. We’ll return to your regularly scheduled programming shortly. After all, ’tis the season (etc., etc., etc.)
If you’re not buying our cunning exposé into the world of beachfront holiday getaways, and you’re hankering for a wholesome white Christmas, fear not. We do that, too.
You won’t find a more unforgettable, magical, downright resplendent taste of traditional holiday joy than New York City in December, and there’s still time to make your reservations. Here are some quick reasons to consider:
1. The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree – if a Christmas tree-lighting is awesome enough to televise, it’s awesome enough to see for yourself.
2. The Radio City Christmas Spectacular – simply one of those things you must do if you visit NYC during the holidays. Besides, how many shows do you know that have lasted more than 75 years?
3. The Windows of Fifth Avenue – the zenith of holiday shopping is without a doubt New York’s Fifth Avenue. While eager shoppers can gorge themselves on one upscale delight after another (maybe put a limit on your credit card, you’ll thank me), hanger’s on can watch retail giants like Saks, Tiffany & Co. and Lord & Taylor battle it out for storefront display supremacy.
If #3 in particular stoked your interest, the only choice in Manhattan hotels for you is the Jumeirah Essex House. A historic attraction in its own right, this luxury south Central Park hotel is offering a holiday shopping package through December 27, 2008. Your standard terms and conditions apply, and the dates are quite specific, so read carefully.
