Santa Barbara Hotel for Beachfront Holiday Getaways

Like many Southern California beach cities, Santa Barbara enjoys a cool, outdoor-friendly Mediterranean climate. That means high sixties to low seventies all day (and all year) long, the perfect weather for a little fun on the beach. And beaches there are! Miles of sumptuous beachfront lounging trails up a coastline that’s as popular with Hollywood celebrities as with tourists.

A unique benefit of Santa Barbara is your relative proximity to Solvang, California. Always a sight to see, this breathtaking Dutch-inspired village/city is even more inviting during the holidays when festive parties are a near daily occurrence. From December 5 through December 19, there are several Christmas-themed, Dutch-styled parties, tree lightings, parades and what have you to enjoy, all of which, of course, is a la carte fun to your time in Santa Barbara.

Imagine it, one minute you’re stretched out on the sand with a book in one hand and a cocktail in the other, the next you’re in the thick of a traditional Danish Christmas celebration. Only in Santa Barbara!

Besides, “Santa” is in the name, so it’s got to be good (ba dum psh).

For Santa Barbara hotels, I rather prefer the Holiday Inn Santa Barbara Hotel for its airport shuttle, complimentary Internet (invaluable for rogue travelers) and relative proximity to everywhere I want to be.
