Hotels, Resorts and Beyond

Tucked behind all the resorts, spas, bars and golf courses of Palm Springs, California you’ll find the historic Plaza Theatre, and within it, the even more historic Palm Springs Follies. This gleeful group of 55 - 85 year-olds puts on riotous revue-style shows complete with song, dance, comedy and more all throughout the year to packed houses and hand-numbing applause.

Typically they do a throwback show from the thirties, forties and fifties, but through the end of December they’re topping even themselves with their unbelievable “Holidays at the Follies” spectacular. A dancing polar bear singing “Hanukkah in Santa Monica”, rock and roll Santa doing “Santa Drives a Hot Rod”, a massive New Year’s Eve performance of “Auld Lang Sang”, it just gets more spectacular as it goes.

If you need a suggestion in Palm Springs, CA hotels, I like the Wyndham Palm Springs. The contemporary décor and upscale amenities fit right in to the town’s resort aesthetic, but the staff is super-hospitable and pretension-free, something that can be hard to find in places like this.
