NFC Championship Game in Glendale, Arizona

Got a good deal for you football fans lucky enough to be headed to this Sunday’s NFC Championship Game in Glendale, Arizona. The Crowne Plaza Phoenix, consistently one of my favorite North Phoenix hotels, is offering a neat little package with one element I’ve never seen before.

You get the basics: the room, the breakfast, the free parking, etc. Here’s the fun part, though: if your team wins, you get an additional discount on your room rate to the tune of 10%! When you check-in, you choose your team, and from then on it’s in their hands. I was skeptical at first; were they putting the discount entirely up to fate? But I’ve gone over the numbers and even if you don’t win, it’s still a good rate and a good deal. It’s kind of like gambling for free, which seems could be a lot of fun.

NFC Championship Game

The 2008 NFC Championship Game takes place this Sunday, January 18, at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The insatiable offense of the Arizona Cardinals will go up against the mastadonic defense of the visiting Philadelphia Eagles, who currently enjoy a three-point edge over the home team. The winner of this content, of course, will go on to play the Super Bowl on February 1, 2009 against either the Baltimore Ravens or Pittsburg Steelers.

As a devout Cowboys fan myself, I don’t care in the least who wins, so just for fun I’m rooting for the Eagles and the Steelers. That way we can have an all-Pennsylvania throwdown come February.

Game starts at 3:00 p.m. Eastern by the way. Enjoy.
