Spring Break Beach Vacations – Santa Monica, California

Santa Monica Beach

Enough family fun! It’s time for bright, beautiful beaches overflowing with babes, bottles, and the occasional bouncy ball. It’s time for real Spring Break!

Being a USA Travel Guide, our knowledge of Mexico hotels is fairly limited, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know a thing or two about hot Spring Break beach vacations. Spring Break college students from all over the world tear up the west coast of the U.S. as well as anywhere, and we’ve got the perfect spot: Santa Monica, California.

Just south of California’s famous Malibu Beach and as close to Beverly Hills and Hollywood as any other coast city, Santa Monica is a happening party spot for anyone who can’t help but get caught up in the spirit. Miles of wide, clean beachfront attracts Spring Breakers by the thousands, not to mention the occasional movie star/pop idol/pro athlete/energy drink mogul.

As with all of our favorite Spring Break spots, it all comes down to options:

  • Santa Monica Beach – You know what you want: sizzling sun, pumping rhythms, and bronzed bodies (after all, they did film “Baywatch” here). You can make it a party every day, and the busier it gets, the more exciting the scene.
  • Nightlife – Fun should never stop when the sun goes down. Keep it going at Santa Monica Beach or head back to your room, throw on your best and hit the club scene. There’s dozens to choose from, but for something a little different, check out Zanzibar. Great for music lovers!
  • Montana Avenue – What’s a Spring Break vacation without a little shopping? Montana Avenue is the place in Santa Monica to find trendy boutiques and restaurants, and you may even catch a glimpse of a “dressed down” celeb. Look close, and you’ll probably recognize some scenery from your favorite tabloids.Santa Monica Pier
  • Santa Monica Pier – The most famous attraction in Santa Monica, the Pier offers a vast selection of things to do, including Pacific Park, the only admission-free amusement park in Los Angeles (that’s admission free, not free free). You can access the Pier straight from the beach whenever you find yourself wanting a change of pace. Learn more.
  • Los Angeles – Not only do you have the beach, shops and nightlife of Santa Monica at your fingertips, you’re just a quick trip to endless delights of Los Angeles, including Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard, and Hollywood. Don’t miss your chance to see it all.

And that only scratches the surface. Spring Break beach vacations in Santa Monica, California are all about good-old-fashioned, not-so-wholesome fun, and they’re a safe and affordable alternative to coastal Mexico. For Spring Break 2009, give this one a try.

For hotels in Santa Monica, you can’t go wrong with Holiday Inn Santa Monica Beach – At the Pier. You’ll enjoy competitive Holiday Inn prices, made even better by splitting the cost with friends, on-site dining and an easy walk to Santa Monica Pier and the beach. Get out there, be safe and have a great time!
