San Diego Comic-Con Hotel Recommendations

The 2009 San Diego Comic-Con International, sadly, is sold out! So if you’d imagined yourself buddy-ing up to the stars of the biggest sci-fi and fantasy films and totally getting an after-party invite, but you don’t have your membership yet, you’re too late! Better luck next year!

Awesome!

However, for those of you who planned ahead and scored some passes, but haven’t pinned down the hotel yet, we thought we’d recommend a couple of our favorite San Diego hotels that are perfect for the occasion:

Doubletree San Diego Hotel Downtown
1646 Front Street
San Diego, California 92101
1-619-239-6800

Located about a mile away, the Doubletree is offering some of the lowest prices among all the official Comic-Con hotels, but this is no budget experience. The hotel offers an airport shuttle year-round and will be offering shuttle service to the San Diego Convention Center during the show. Try their “Taste of Italy” Package to score a crazy bunch of free stuff.

Holiday Inn San Diego on the Bay
1355 North Harbor Drive
San Diego, California 92101
619-232-3861

This is hotel is a fairly regular mention of ours because we like it so much, and when we saw that they too would be offering shuttle service to the event, we decided to put it out there again. This hotel is located on the bayside, so the views are excellent. If you’re in to that kind of thing.

As you know, Comic-Con 2009 will be held July 23-26 at the San Diego Convention Center, and you can bet the hotels are filling up fast. For savings and convenience, consider our suggestions above.

Live long and prosper!

    Two items:
    1. I think you should mention Star Trek more
    2. Why is Neelix carrying a phaser pistol? I don’t think that’s canon….

I was so sad when this sold out so quickly! My daughter was super disappointed that she did not get to go and see the “twilight” gang!

I was fortunate enough to be able to attend this event and it was crazy!! I saw the group from twilight and I did not think it was such a big deal. I don’t really get the whole vampire love story but I love the gang from Star Trek!!
