Here in Dallas we just enjoyed a nice shorts-worthy weekend, but in most of the country temperature dials are headed south. As it happens, so are a whole lot of people.

They’re called “snowbirds”, folk who flock to warmer climates before the winter woes have a chance to set in. They head to Georgia, Florida and the Keys, the Caribbean, maybe even Hawaii if they’ve got the scratch. One place they’ve begun to head more and more is the Mississippi Gulf Coast, now experiencing a welcome revival after years recuperating from the terrible hurricane season of 2005.
